UPI Deposits for a Cricket ID: How They Work and How to Avoid Scams

Last updated: 10 October 2026 · Written by the CricketID support team

Most players fund their cricket ID by UPI. It is quick and familiar, but it is also where most money is lost to scams rather than to bad bets. This guide walks through a safe deposit from start to finish and lists the warning signs that should make you stop.

How a deposit to a cricket ID works

Agent-issued exchange IDs do not take card payments on the site itself. Instead, your agent shares payment details in your private chat, you pay by UPI or bank transfer, and the agent credits the same amount to your ID. That means two things matter: that the payment details really come from your agent, and that the credit is confirmed in writing.

A safe deposit, step by step

  1. Ask for payment details in your existing chat. Do not use details from a website, a YouTube comment, a group or a number that messaged you first.
  2. Check the name shown by your UPI app before you pay. If it does not match what your agent told you, stop and ask.
  3. Pay from an account in your own name. Payments from someone else’s account cause delays and problems at withdrawal time.
  4. Send the screenshot and the UTR number. The UTR (or UPI reference number) is the 12-digit transaction ID in your payment app. It lets the agent match your payment instantly.
  5. Wait for written confirmation. The agent should confirm the amount credited to your ID. Do not bet until that message arrives.

Warning signs of a deposit scam

  • A “deposit number” you found online. Searches like “my99exch deposit number” or “dreamexch24 WhatsApp number” are common, and the numbers that come up are not linked to your account. Money sent there is usually gone.
  • A different payee every time with no explanation. Agents may rotate accounts, but they should say so in the same chat you already use.
  • Requests for your UPI PIN or an OTP. You never need to share a PIN or OTP to make a payment. Anyone asking is trying to take money from your account.
  • “Collect” requests you did not expect. A collect request asks you to approve a payment. Never approve one you did not arrange.
  • Pressure. “Deposit in the next five minutes for a bonus” is a pressure tactic. A genuine agent can wait.
  • No written confirmation. If an agent will not confirm a deposit in writing, do not send another.

How much to deposit first

Start with an amount you could lose without it affecting your bills. Use the first deposit to place a few small bets and then request a small withdrawal. Seeing a withdrawal arrive tells you far more about a platform than any advert. Our withdrawal guide explains that step.

Keep records

Keep the payment screenshot, the UTR and the agent’s confirmation for each deposit. If anything is ever disputed, those three pieces settle it quickly.

Responsible play

Online betting is for adults aged 18 and over and is restricted or prohibited in some Indian states. Check the rules where you live. Set a monthly deposit limit before you start and stick to it; see our responsible gambling page.

Frequently asked questions

No. Use only payment details given in your private chat with your agent.

How long until my deposit shows in my ID?

Usually a few minutes after your agent confirms the payment. Do not bet before the written confirmation.
